December 31, 2022; Mekele: Elshadai Relief & Development Association Community celebrates peace festival that aims to support the peace deal between FDRE and the Government Tigrai.
Around 5248 people who are direct beneficiaries of ERDA has took part in the peace festival having a motto “ We Demand Peace, and We Support the Peace Deal”.
ERDA Executive Director Yemane Woldemariam on his remark applauded initiators and all actors of the peace agreement, and also extended his gratitude the Ethiopian People in general specially the people of Tigrai for their everlasting demand pursuing peace.
Participants of the festival IDP Children, Refugees, People with special need and other war affected people express their feeling and aspirations to bring sustainable peace in the region.
Representatives from the IDP children and Eritrean refugees addressed that the emerging peace process in the region will bring the affected people all what they lost due to the war. Meseret, an IDP child who is from the Central Zone hops to meet his beloved family & relative soon assuming that peace building process should be accelerated.
An Eritrean Refugee child Rahbet Zerazgi wishes all children from Tigrai, Ethiopia and Eritrea to have bright and peaceful future, and then they can work brotherly & sisterly.
Mr. Abreham Teame on his regard said that the people of Eritrea and Tigrai are the same and should pursue peace & development together. The emerging peace process is also good the Eritrean people not only for the people of Tigrai & Ethiopia, he added.
The festival was accompanied with Art and Circuses performances by displaced children and adults at ERDA compound Kalamino, Mekele.
