December 20, 2022; Mekele: Elshadai Relief & Development Association is hosting around 2000 Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) on Kalamino Temporary Shelter based on to the Government & Humanitarian actors decision.
The children who displaced from different area of the region due to the two year war in Tigrai needs to be healed from their deep physical and psychological pains. Most of the children are traumatized and immediately needs treatment and sustainable rehabilitation interventions.
Thus ERDA is working in collaboration with Child Protection (CPAoR) partners on case management, family tracing and reunification activities. Besides, ERDA provides basic needs, health & nutrition services, formal education and training programs.
I is estimated that more than 40 thousand children remains unaccompanied and separated in Tigrai following the war in northern Ethiopia.
