January 14, 2022; Mekele: Elshadai Relief & Development Association in Collaboration with Tigrai Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) and UNHCR has provided short term skill training for child IDPs and Eritrean Refugee temporarily protected at Elshadai compound Mekele.
The training was held for the last five months mainly focused on fundamental skills of modern agricultural practice, computer & communication skills, spoken English, food preparation and entrepreneurship following psychosocial support trainings.
Tigrai Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Office Head Mulgeta Debalkew on his remark at the graduation ceremony marked the training as an ice-breaking imitative that has a valuable move for the sustainable rehabilitation of war affected people. Training by itself is not only a way of capacity building, but it can be used as a means of healing and rehabilitation of traumatized children and adolescent, he added.
Founder and Executive Director of Elshadai Yemane Welldemariam on his regard said that the training was provided for 233 IDP children and Eritrean refugees that may help them to envision better future.
