About Us
Elshadai Relief and Development Association is a community-based non-governmental and non-profit making humanitarian organization initiated and established by Aite Yemane Woldemariam in September 1990 in Tigrai. ERDA was registered by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Agency for Civil Society Organization Proclamation No. 1113/2019 with registration no. 0994, and is a signatory of the Code of Conduct for Charities and Societies in the country.
Besides ERDA has been a pioneer for a number of initiatives since its establishment. Thus Elshadai & its partners have been intervening in chilled care & support, education, Rehabilitation and Fighting Poverty, youth empowerment skill training, agricultural development & environmental protection, community outreach, health & nutrition services.

Governance

General Assembly
ERDA General Assembly is the highest governing body that leads the overall activities. The assembly is composed of people drawn from the different sections of the society and meet once a year.
Board of Directives
Next to the ERDA GA, Board of Directives is the authorized organ to provide strategic leadership and close supervision of the overall activities in line with the strategy and direction given by the GA.
Management Committee
there is also a Management Committee chaired by Executive Director which is entrusted with the mandate of participating in decision making processes which strengthening the relief & development activities.
Functional Units/Centers
Currently Elshadai has two children’s villages, located at Kalamino, Mekele and Wukro. Besides Elementary School, Health institution, IDP & Refugees Camp, Multilateral Agricultural Site, Social Service Providing Institutions are stationed at ERDA HQ Kalamino, Mekele.
